Mission Statement
The Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals empowers, develops, and connects school leaders to promote educational excellence and equity.
MASSP Board Message
Recent events in our country and around the world are a painful, yet critical, reminder that equality for all has not been reached. Not only is MASSP committed to practicing the tenets of equality and fairness in our day-to-day operations, a primary focus is to equip our members with the resources and opportunities needed to lead their staff, students, and community in establishing a culture that celebrates equality for all. As educators, we touch generations of diverse students and have multiple opportunities to show children and young adults that each of them matters. As one of Maryland’s leading organizations of school administrators and leaders, MASSP is genuine in its mission to promote educational equity. We affirm that it is through teaching, learning, and practicing that young people experience respect for all, understand the history of injustice, appreciate their role in today’s world, and gain the skills for making vital societal changes. MASSP stands against racism and all other forms of hate and prejudice.
