MASSP Memberships and Benefits
Membership is open to middle level and high school principals, assistant principals, and other administrators at the building, district, and state level. In addition, retired members are welcome. Please see below for a description of our membership categories:
- MASSP/NASSP Individual Membership ($390/year)-Open to all principals, assistant principals and other school, district and state level administrators.
- MASSP/NASSP Institutional Membership ($390/year)-Open to all principals, assistant principals, and other school, district and state level administrators. This is an individual membership that is transferable and owned by the school.
- MASSP/NASSP Associate Membership ($160/year)-Open to superintendents, district personnel, aspiring administrators, teachers, graduate students, professors, and other non-administrators.
- MASSP/NASSP Retired Membership ($110/year)-Open to currently active individual and institutional members who are leaving their position and no longer hold a W-2 administrative position within a school system. This option covers previously earned years of legal coverage for uninterrupted membership. Must transfer to the retired category while still an active member to continue legal coverage. Membership must be continuous. (Non-voting member)
MASSP/NASSP membership provides the following:
- Monitoring and advocating legislation in both the federal and state legislatures
- Representing principals at all major stakeholder meetings regarding education policy, including all meetings of the Maryland State Board of Education
- Providing liability insurance and legal reimbursement: $2,000,000.00 professional liability coverage per member and $1000.00 legal reimbursement for each year of continuous membership with a cap of $10,000.00
- Offering affordable high-quality conferences and workshops on current topics in addition to our signature Fall UNITED Leadership Conference, Spring Assistant Principals and Aspiring Leaders Conference, and Spring Women's Leadership Conference!
- Sponsoring Principal-of-the-Year and Assistant Principal-of-the-Year Awards at middle and high school levels
- Communicating regularly through newsletters and email alerts
- Providing resources for faculty advisors of Honor Societies and Student Governments and a list of NASSP approved student programs, contests, and activities
