MASSP Mission Statement

The Maryland Association of Secondary School Principals (MASSP) empowers, develops, and connects school leaders to promote educational excellence and equity.

MASSP Strategic Goals

  • Serve as the state voice for principals, assistant principals, and other secondary school leaders.
    • Influence legislators on issues of importance to secondary schools.
    • Grow and rejuvenate membership.
  • Support principals and assistant principals in their work as leaders.
    • Give value added services that address administrative needs and interests.
    • Help members to enhance the leadership capacity in their schools.
  • Help develop the next generation of school leaders.
    • Encourage aspiring administrators.
    • Personalize the services of the organization to involve aspiring principals and assistant principals.
  • Maintain sound management and financial practices and procedures.
    • Increase the use of the Website and information technology to improve organizational effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity.
    • Continue to evaluate and strengthen the management and administrative operations of the organization.
  • Cultivate a more responsive system of governance to best serve the needs of administrators statewide.
    • Promote ongoing communication, coordination, and collaboration within the organization.
    • Reach out to current and prospective members to include and involve them in MASSP activities.
